GÜNTHER LEBBING
Günther Lebbing is a guitarist whose career as a soloist and chamber musician has taken him to stages throughout Europe and the United States. His performances are known for stylistic breadth, expressive sensitivity, and a refined sense of tonal color.
He has appeared at major festivals including Wien Modern, Ultraschall Berlin, Agora Paris, Dialoge at the Mozarteum Salzburg, Ruhrtriennale Essen, Festival d’Automne Paris, Ars Musica Liège, MITO Milan/Turin, Live Arts Festival Philadelphia, and Crossing the Line New York.
A central focus of his work lies in contemporary music. He has premiered numerous new works and produced radio recordings for WDR, Deutschlandradio Kultur, R3 Belgium, Radio France, and RAI 3 — testifying to his deep engagement with composers and his openness to new sonic landscapes.
His discography includes recordings for the Musicaphon label (together with Bernd Kortenkamp) and Naxos, where he recorded the guitar quartets of Antonio Ruiz-Pipó with the Monasterium Guitar Quartet.
Alongside his concert work, Günther Lebbing is a committed music educator and has taught classical guitar for many years at the Borken Music School.
